PlatoSpec is a fiber-fed echelle spectrograph with simultaneous spectra calibration optimized for better sensitivity in the blue wavelength range to enable monitoring in the Ca H&K spectral lines for studying exoplanets and stellar activity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

PLATOSpec was commissioned on November 26, 2024, and is powered by the E152 telescope (ESO 1.52-m Telescope) operating at the ESO La Silla Observatory in Chile. The spectrograph is currently in the scientific verification phase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The PlatoSpec spectrograph is equipped with an ANDOR i-Kon L CCD camera with 2k resolution (2048×2048), cooled by a multi-stage Peltier cell and coolant circulation, which allows the chip to be operating at temperature of -80 \u00b0C.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Data from the spectrograph are processed automatically with regard to accurate measurements of radial velocities (RV). The processing pipeline is based on the CERES package (R. Brahm et al. 2016, link<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
