At the turn of August and September, the traditional Workshop of Observational Techniques 2024 takes place in the Stellar Department of the Astronomical Institute of the CAS at the Ond\u0159ejov Observatory, this year it is the fifth edition. Participants are students from four universities: Charles University in Prague, Masaryk University in Brno, University of Potsdam and Leibniz University in Germany.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The main organizers and coordinators of the workshop are the Head of the Stellar Department Brankica Kub\u00e1tov\u00e1 and Petr Kab\u00e1th and Ji\u0159\u00ed Kub\u00e1t. Together with colleagues from the University of Potsdam and the TLS – Thuringian State Observatory in Tautenburg, Germany, they teach students how to reduce spectroscopic and photometric observations taken with the Perk telescope in Ond\u0159ejov and remote observations with the E152 telescope at La Silla, Chile.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Thus, we use the largest telescope in the country – the Perk Telescope not only for observations within our scientific programs, but also for teaching students. We try to involve students in our science programs and prepare them for future observations with the Perek telescope and also with the E152 telescope at La Silla in Chile.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
