PLATOSpec scientific conference

Context/Scientific rationale:

PLATOSpec is a new precise echelle spectrograph which was installed on E152 telescope at La Silla Observatory in Chile in December 2024. We would like to take the opportunity of one year of operations of the PLATOSpec instrument to present the scientific results from the first year of operations but also to discuss the role of similar instrumentation in the upcoming era of PLATO and Ariel space missions. We would welcome contributions discussing/presenting stellar host characterisation, architecture of the planetary systems and a precise instrumentation for 2-m class telescopes and its scientific niche. Therefore, we are inviting the broad community interested in the use of PLATOSpec or similar instruments for stellar and exoplanetary science, in particular with focus on gas planets, to participate in the science conference in Santiago de Chile from 01 till 03 December 2025. We encourage participation in person but we will also offer slots for contributions in hybrid mode.

The conference will take place in the campus San Joaquin of Pontifica Universidad Catolica de Chile. Avenida Vicuña Mackenna 4860, metro station San Joaquin of line 5

To participate in the science conference in Santiago de Chile from 01 till 03 December 2025 Furthermore, an optional program (visit of the Astroingeneria lab, etc.) will be offered for 04 December for those who stay in Santiago.

The conference dinner is planned for 2.12. evening
