The head of the Stellar department of the Astronomical Institute of the Academy of Sciences in Ondřejov, Brankica Kubátová, visited the Sofie Basic School in Říčany on May 11, 2022, to introduce the profession of astrophysicist to first-grade students. The children listened enthusiastically and were interested in various details. It was clear that they are very interested in our Solar system and the entire Universe, and that they would like to learn as much as possible tounderstand the Universe. A visit to the Perek telescope in Ondřejov – the largest Czech telescope – inspired the pupils even more. Enthusiastic children left the excursion with the desire to become astrophysicists. We will be happy if some of them become our colleagues in the future.
