On Monday, January 23, 2023, the Jan Frič Award ceremony for 2022 took place at the Ondřejov Observatory of the Astronomical Institute of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic. The laureate is Mgr. Ján Šubjak, Ph.D. from the Stellar Department, who receives this award for the work “Photometric and Spectroscopic Characterization of Substellar Companions”.
Since 2009, the Astronomical Institute of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic has been awarding the Jan Frič Award to its young scientists for extraordinary results that contribute to the institute’s prestige in international comparison.
On the occasion the Jan Frič Prize laureate gave a lecture on the topic “Photometric and spectroscopic characterization of substellar companions of stars.”
